Keep Your Wrapped Vehicles Looking Great In Dallas-Ft. Worth
You have invested a lot of money in getting custom vehicle wraps for your fleet. It’s an investment that’s going to pay off now that everyone can see your information at a glance whenever you pass by.
Just like your vehicles require care, so do their wraps. You want to keep them looking their best as long as possible. Luckily, it’s not hard to properly care for custom wraps. This short guide will tell you everything you need to know.
Storage
DO store your wrapped vehicles inside if possible. A garage is best, but a carport or a parking garage is also suitable. You can also use a nylon cover or a pop-up garage.
DON’T leave them out in the sun any more than necessary. The sun fades paint jobs over time and vinyl wraps are no different. As with a paint job, the spots most likely to fade are the hood, roof, and trunk.
A bonus of storing your wrapped fleet inside: you won’t have to worry about stains from birds and tree sap.
Washing
DO wash your wrapped vehicles by hand with a washcloth or large automotive sponge if possible.
DO use a cleaner from 3M, such as 3M Car Wash Soaps.
DON’T use oil-based or household cleaners. These have chemicals in them that can age or stain the vinyl. Again, stick to cleaners made by 3M.
Stain Removal
DO soak the stained area in hot, soapy water before trying to remove it with a microbrush.
DO use a 50/50 mixture of water and stain remover with a microbrush to help take off stubborn stains.
DON’T wait to treat stains. They should be treated as soon as possible to have the best chance of removing them.
